The Phoenix Coyotes re-signed forward Kyle Chipchura to a one-year contract on Friday.

Chipchura, a restricted free agent, played 53 games for the Coyotes last season, setting career highs with 13 assists and 16 points.

"We are very pleased to re-sign Kyle," said Coyotes general manager Don Maloney. "Kyle is a hard-working, versatile forward who brings toughness and grit to our lineup. We are happy to have him back."

A 2004 first-round pick of Montreal, the 26-year-old Chipchura has registered 13 goals, 31 assists and 161 penalty minutes in 216 career games with the Canadiens, Ducks and Coyotes.
