MONTREAL (Reuters) - Pittsburgh's Sidney Crosby will be sidelined for at least a week after suffering a mild concussion, coach Dan Bylsma said, after the center missed the Penguins' 2-1 shoot-out loss to the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday.
"He's got to be symptom-free, but I would say (he won't play for) about a week," Bylsma said.
Crosby's injury has been linked to a hit by Victor Hedman of Tampa Bay during the Penguins' 8-1 win over the Lightning on Wednesday.
Crosby returned to Pittsburgh earlier in the day to be evaluated.
"At this point we're making sure he's healthy and ready and able to play when he does get back out there," Bylsma said.
"When he woke up this morning we decided he wasn't going to play tonight."
Crosby leads the NHL with 32 goals and 66 points.
