Philadelphia, PA – Na Yeon Choi picked up her first major championship on Sunday as she won the U.S. Women's Open by four strokes, and that helped her jump three places to No. 2 in this week's world rankings.
The win was Choi's sixth on the LPGA Tour.
Yani Tseng still owns a healthy lead over the second-ranked Choi. Choi's move knocked Stacy Lewis, Ai Miyazato and Shanshan Feng down one spot each.
Suzann Pettersen held steady at No. 6 and was followed by Amy Yang, who jumped six spots to No. 7 after finishing second behind Choi at Blackwolf Run.
Sun Ju Ahn dipped one to eighth, while Cristie Kerr, Jiyai Shin, I.K. Kim, Sun Young Yoo and Paula Creamer were all down one as well.
Azahara Munoz and Brittany Lincicome remained 14th and 15th. Mika Miyazato shared seventh behind Choi and that resulted in a three-spot jump to 16th. That rise knocked Ji-Hee Lee, Angela Stanford and Chie Arimura down one notch each.
So Yeon Ryu closed out the top 20 again this week.
