Chicago, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - The New Orleans Saints selected Chattanooga's three-time Southern Conference defensive player of the year Davis Tull in the fifth round of the NFL Draft on Saturday.

Tull was the 148th overall selection.

A defensive end at Chattanooga while he three-peated with top SoCon defensive honors - the first to do so since Dexter Coakley from 1994-96 - the 6-foot-2, 246-pound Tull is expected to transition to outside linebacker in the NFL.

Known for his high motor, the two-time Buck Buchanan Award finalist was a starter in all 48 games of his Chattanooga career, setting school records with 60 tackles for loss, 37 sacks and 10 forced fumbles.
