Celtic cruised to a 4-0 victory over Ross County at Parkhead on Saturday to open up a five-point lead at the top of the Scottish Premier League table.

Scott Brown opened the scoring for the Hoops just before halftime, but the second half was anything but close.

Gary Hooper bagged a brace with goals in the 53rd and 64th minutes while James Forrest extended Celtic's lead five minutes later.

The victory helps Celtic improve to 37 points through 18 games, five points better than second-place Inverness, which claimed a 4-1 win over Dundee on Saturday behind a brace from William McKay. Celtic still holds a game in hand over Inverness and third-place Motherwell.

Ross County remains second from bottom in Scotland's top flight, managing 18 points through 19 games.

Also on Saturday, Niall McGinn's brace helped Aberdeen snap a three-game slide as the club grabbed a 2-0 victory over St. Johnstone at the Pittodrie Stadium. Aberdeen improves to 27 points, two points better than St. Johnstone, which is winless in its last four league matches.
