Prague, Czech Republic (SportsNetwork.com) - Jordan Eberle scored a power-play goal midway through the third period to lift Canada to a 4-3 win over France on Saturday at the 2015 World Hockey Championship.
The Canadians remained unbeaten through five games in Group A, but had to bounce back after France tied the game with a pair of early third-period goals.
Yorick Treille pulled France within 3-2 at 6:21 of the third and Damien Fleury tied it just 35 seconds later, but Canada went on the power play soon after and Eberle tipped Brent Burns' point drive home for his second goal of the game.
The French, this time, had no answer.
Martin Jones made 18 saves for the Canadians, while Tyler Seguin also scored twice in the victory.
Seguin and Eberle gave Canada a 2-0 lead with goals just 66 seconds apart in the first period before Julien Desrosiers countered for France late in the stanza. Seguin added a power-play goal with 2:58 left in the second period to restore Canada's two-goal margin.
In other Group A action, Filip Forsberg scored in overtime to give Sweden a 2-1 victory against Switzerland. Latvia topped Austria in overtime, 2-1.
In Group B, Russia rolled to a 7-0 win over Belarus. Sergei Bobrovsky stopped all 13 shots he faced and the Russians received goals from seven different players in the rout.
Finland also won in Group B with a 3-0 triumph over Slovakia, scoring all three goals in the third period.
The Finns forged a three-way tie atop Group B with Russia and Finland. Belarus, which was coming off a 5-2 win over the Americans on Thursday, remained two points behind the group leaders.
Also Saturday, Denmark beat Norway by a 4-1 score.
