Buccaneers' Nicks has surgery

Tampa, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Tampa Bay Buccaneers guard Carl Nicks is expected to be out an indefinite amount of time after undergoing a surgical procedure on his infected foot.

The team announced that Nicks, after seeking another opinion, had surgery Tuesday night in hopes of ridding the MRSA staph infection that returned last week.

Nicks has missed all but two games this season due to the bacterial infection.
