Brief lighting failure delays start of 3rd period between Sabres and Capitals
WASHINGTON – The Buffalo Sabres and Washington Capitals had to wait a few extra minutes to get the third period started because of a brief lighting malfunction.
The problem was solved quickly Sunday night, and the third period got under way after a delay of about six minutes. The malfunction was hardly noticeable from upper level of the Verizon Center.
Washington held a 4-2 lead at the time of the delay.
