Rome, Italy (SportsNetwork.com) - Roma's sensational start to the Serie A season continued on Thursday as Marco Borriello's second-half strike at the Stadio Olimpico granted the club a 1-0 defeat of Chievo and helped the home side remain perfect through 10 matches.

It looked as if Roma would drop points for the first time this term, but Borriello rescued the club with his first goal of the campaign.

The 31-year-old struck in the 67th minute, getting on the end of a cross from Alessandro Florenzi and nodding the delivery off of Christian Puggioni's far post and into the back of the net.

Roma extends its lead at the top of the Serie A table, improving to 30 points to move five points clear of second-place Napoli.

Chievo remains at the foot of the table on four points.
