Alexander Starling stole an in-bounds pass and banked in a 10-foot shot with 2.2 seconds remaining in overtime to lift Bethune-Cookman to a 73-71 victory over Florida A&M in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference action Thursday night.

Sealing Bethune-Cookman's first 20-win season since joining NCAA Division I in 1980-81, Starling then stole the ensuing in-bounds pass as the final seconds ticked.

C.J. Reed, who after the game was announced as the MEAC Player of the Year, tied the game with 4.9 seconds left in overtime on a drive toward the basket and an accompanying eight-foot shot.

Reed finished with 23 points, Garrius Holloman added 15 and Starling 14 for Bethune-Cookman (20-11, 13-3), which clinched the MEAC regular-season title earlier this week and has won seven straight.

Avery Moore scored 16 points, Brandon Hosley 15 and Amin Stevens 11 for the Rattlers (12-19, 7-9).
