The Cincinnati Bengals released linebacker Aaron Maybin on Sunday.

Maybin was signed by the Bengals to a reserve/future contract in January. He played in two preseason games but did not record a tackle.

The 11th overall selection of the 2009 draft by the Buffalo Bills, Maybin played in eight games for the New York Jets last season before getting released on Nov. 13.

His best year as a pro came in 2011 while also with the Jets, as he finished the campaign with 11 tackles, six sacks and four forced fumbles.

The 25-year-old has 36 career tackles and six sacks over 48 career games with Buffalo and New York.

The Bengals also released wide receiver Tyrone Goard and cornerback Troy Stoudermire.
