Barcelona, Spain – Barcelona striker Isaac Cuenca will undergo knee surgery on Thursday to repair a meniscus problem in his right knee.
The 21-year-old missed out on Barcelona's 3-0 triumph in the Copa del Rey final against Athletic Bilbao because of the problem, and he will now spend much of his summer recovering from the surgery.
Cuenca came up through the ranks of Barca's youth academy and made his first- team debut in October 2011.
He went on to feature in 16 La Liga games for the Catalan side this season, scoring one goal, while Cuenca's status for the Olympic tournament in London as a member of Spain's Under-21 side is now in doubt.
