Oakland, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Oakland Athletics placed infielder/outfielder Ben Zobrist on the 15-day disabled list with a meniscus tear in his left knee.
The 33-year-old initially left Sunday's game against Kansas City with knee soreness. He came back to pinch hit on Thursday and went 0-for-4 as Oakland's designated hitter on Friday.
In 14 games this season, Zobrist was batting .240 with a .304 on-base percentage and one home run, seeing time in left field and right field as well at second base.
The A's also selected the contract of infielder Max Muncy from Triple-A Nashville and designated pitcher Eury De La Rosa for assignment.
