Right-hander Jesse Hahn has had a frustrating career so far. He's shown flashes of brilliance occasionally but has also dealt with a number of arm-related issues, most notably Tommy John surgery he underwent in 2010.

In 2015, his first season with the Oakland Athletics after coming over in a trade with the San Diego Padres, Hahn had a 'typical' sort of year: he pitched well when healthy but succumbed to a forearm strain in July that ended his season early. Overall, he was 6-6 with a 3.35 ERA and a FIP of 3.51 in 16 starts.

However, with the A's hoping to 'right the ship' in 2016 after a disappointing 68-94 campaign in 2015, it sounds as if Hahn is on track to get back to business as one of the team's core starters.

As he told Joe Stiglich of CSN Bay Area this week, Hahn's arm is feeling better:

If Hahn is able to remain healthy and contribute as the level he should be capable of, the A's will benefit by having a consistent No. 2 or 3 starter behind Sonny Gray and the rest of the staff. If (and that's a big 'if' considering his medical history) that happens, it'd make the A's quite happy.
