London, England – Arsenal midfielder Abou Diaby has been ruled out for up to nine months after injuring his left knee in training, it was announced Thursday.
Diaby sustained the injury in training Wednesday and subsequent scans have confirmed that he has torn his anterior cruciate ligament.
The 26-year-old will undergo surgery to repair the injury and is expected to be absent for eight to nine months while recovering.
