Newcastle, England – Newcastle will be without striker Shola Ameobi for the next month after he was ruled out with a hamstring injury.
Ameobi suffered the injury on Saturday in his team's 1-0 win over Wigan after entering the match as a substitute.
"Unfortunately we lost Shola on Saturday so he's going to be out now for, we think, four to six weeks," Newcastle manager Alan Pardew said. "That's a blow to us. He pulled a hamstring after about three minutes of coming on, and still played on which just goes to show you what sort of a character he is.
"He's going be a loss to us and I think our fans will see that now, how important he is when he's not there."
The 30-year-old scored the equalizer in Newcastle's 2-2 draw with Tottenham two weeks ago and has made six appearances in the league for the Magpies this season.
