Gingrich: "I don’t think there is an Obama Doctrine"

Newt Gingrich says the Obama administration is bungling its military involvement in Libya.

"I don't think there is an Obama doctrine," the former Speaker of the House told Sean Hannity on Monday night . "I think there are a series of Obama excuses."

Gingrich went on to blast President Obama on the planning of the action in Libya as well as the question of leadership. "There is no international community that has any authority, so the idea that the President of the United States isn't responsible to the congress and the American people but is responsible to some vague organization called the international community is profoundly wrong," said Gingrich.

President Obama has said the U.S. actions in Libya are in part to avoid a humanitarian disaster in the North African nation. According to Gingrich, if that's the case, American forces should have boots on the ground all over the globe. "If humanitarian is the standard then Sudan's destruction in Darfur has to rank as one of the great disasters... Mugabe in Zimbabwe is a disaster, Kim Jong Il in North Korea is a disaster. The president is going to have to answer questions because current policy is so incoherent and so confused that it is literally indefensible," said Gingrich.

Gingrich has been preparing for a possible 2012 run for the White House for the past few months, and Hannity also asked for the latest on that subject.

"I think the obligation as a citizen to seriously consider it gets higher we you look at the damage being done by this administration on so many different fronts," said Gingrich.

The former house speaker and representative from Georgia has certainly been acting like a potential 2012 candidate. He has visited Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina in recent weeks, all crucial 'early states' in presidential politics.

Gingrich has yet to form an official presidential exploratory committee but launched a website called newtexplore2012.
