Will Graham, the grandson of the legendary evangelist, the late Rev. Billy Graham, had the privilege of portraying his grandfather in a film and now he's penned his first devotional book to honor America's Pastor.

In "Redeemed: Devotions for the Longing Soul," Graham includes quotes and stories from his grandfather and lessons he's learned along the way.

BILLY GRAHAM'S GRANDSON: THE BIG DECISION I MADE AFTER PLAYING MY GRANDPA IN 'UNBROKEN: PATH TO REDEMPTION'

"God can really change your life," Graham said on "Fox & Friends" Tuesday morning. " It doesn't matter what you're going through, how angry you, how bitter you are, God still has a plan and purpose for your life, but you must surrender your life, not just commit...giving your life over to Jesus Christ saying you're in control of my life."

Graham remembers the first time he began to realize his grandfather, who had a very low-profile among his family, was famous.

YOUNG BOY WHO'S HERO WAS BILLY GRAHAM MIRACULOUSLY SURVIVES GETTING HIT, PINNED UNDER A CAR

"I was a real young boy. I was in elementary school, and it was about kindergarten, and my teacher came up and she was introducing me to another teacher and she said, 'This is Billy Graham's grandson,' and I'm like how does she know who my granddaddy was. I didn't know my granddaddy was famous, I thought he was just granddad, which we called 'Daddy Bill,' that was our name for our grandfather."

The Liberty University alumn said he didn't realize the vastness of the impact of his grandfather until he was in college.

Another instance was when Billy Graham was speaking at a convention, with a long line of people, but Will Graham, as a young boy, ran up and a police officer stopped him, but the reverend opened his arms and embraced his grandson.

Graham told the “Todd Starnes Show” it’s a memory and a spiritual lesson.

“When you’re related to your father, or grandfather in this case, then you have access to him, and the same is true for us as Christians that when things are going bad, when things aren’t going right, we have access to our heavenly Father because we’re his children, and so it was just a great lesson that my granddaddy took time to just get down on his knees and hug me in front of everybody because I was his grandson," he said.

Graham said the book was something God laid on his heart to do a long time ago but didn't tell him to start writing until last year.

"It's just some things that I've come across in life. Things I've witnessed from my grandfather. Things that Scripture has just spoken to me. And things I've just seen all around the world and I just wanted to share with people some of the biblical lessons I've learned in life."

Graham said he based the book on a verse the resonates with many: Psalm 107:9: "For He satisfies the longing soul and fills the hungry soul with goodness."

"And that's what God does," Graham said. "You know, we all have longing souls, looking for more in life, but yet He fills us His goodness - His goodness not the world's goodness - but His goodness, and that's what really satisfies our longing souls.
