Apparently, the dress code for this party was “How low can you go?”
PHOTOS: Celebs Love Their Daring Dresses
In celebration of a successful month in fashion, as well as the launch of CR Fashion Book’s fifth issue, a slew of celebs opted to go extremely low cut with their couture on Tuesday in Paris.
The Daily Mail reports that the theme of the night was actually “Inspired By Carine,” which is a reference to the magazine’s editor-in-chief Carine Roitfeld. The famous guests in attendance went for chic black ensembles, exposing loads of skin with plunging necklines.
And according to fashion experts, sometimes taking the (extremely deep) plunge has its benefits, aside from stirring headlines.

“Simply put, the V-beck shape is just flattering,” says Los Angeles-based personal stylist Laurie Brucker. “Wearing a V-neck can instantly make you look taller and slimmer. Why? When you show more neckline in your look, it will elongate the appearance of your neck, which in turn makes you look taller. That same illusion of elongation also makes you appear slimmer. It’s style magic at its best.”
And it looks like these supermodels, reality TV stars and actresses all got the memo.

Another televised performance, another reason to show off her svelte shape.
PHOTOS: Taylor Swift Wears the Most Daring Dress Yet
Taylor Swift has been having a love affair lately — with crop tops, that is (sorry, high-waisted shorts). For the 2014 iHeartRadio Music Festival held in Las Vegas on Friday, the 24-year-old “Shake It Off” singer stole the show by revealing plenty of skin both on the red carpet and on stage.
To kick off the festivities, Swift opted for her signature red-hot look, matching her crimson pout with a body-hugging high-waisted red pencil skirt and a strapless white crop top. It’s being reported that her simple, chic ensemble — with the exception of her strappy tri-color Christian Louboutin shoes — is from the Calvin Klein Resort 2015 collection.
But Swift wasn’t done just yet.

For her music set, the Grammy Award-winning artist dazzled in a bejeweled pink crop top and matching skirt. The outfit was completed with sequined, high-heeled gold booties. In it, Swift proved to be toned and trendy, all while rocking the stage with ease.
And stylists say anyone can channel this blonde bombshell when it comes to their personal style.
“Keep dresses form-fitting and not too revealing,” says image consultant Thea Wood. “A good rule of thumb? If it’s form-fitted, feature only one skin element, such as your back, bust, legs, or mid-riff. (Yes), shiny fabrics are on-trend, but be careful. They will highlight every bump and roll, so place shiny strategically and wear shape-wear.
Looks like Swift doesn’t need to pull out the Spanx anytime soon, though.

PHOTOS: Sheer and Cut-Out Dresses Make a Splash on the Red Carpet
For her appearance on “The Late Show” in New York on Wednesday, Katharine McPhee wowed fans wearing a ruffled, body-hugging sheer dress featuring a dainty floral pattern that flaunted her famous assets. Along with matching pink pumps to elongate her figure and a sun kissed-hued lob haircut, the 30-year-old singer and former “American Idol” contestant kept it simple, yet seductive.
While the sheer look is a daring one, stylists insists anyone can rock this coveted style by tastefully emphasizing one’s best features.

“Sheer fabrics are an ideal way to enhance your figure for nighttime looks,” says style expert Cecelia Myers. “A blouse with sheer sleeves is a great way to show your arms even if they aren’t like Michelle Obama’s. One of my favorite looks is a lace skirt where the liner stops just a few inches before the hem. It allows your legs to be a bit more visible without trying too hard. If you’re worried about it being too revealing, pair some opaque tights with the skirt.”
“Sheer is for everyone,” adds Sharon Graubard of Stylesight. “A woman who is not comfortable showing her midriff can still wear sheer sleeves, illusion necklines, insets at the shoulder, or a button-up over a tank top … Just a wide border of sheer at a skirt hem, or sheer insets on a pleated skirt, suggests lingerie and has a sexy but not-overexposed effect.”
