  • 10. The Pontiac Grand Prix is the best of the worst in this list, compiled from Cars.com figures provided to FOXNews.com. Our list only counts those American vehicles that have been on the market for the entirety of 2008. Some 8,252 Grand Prixs have been sold this year, down 89.5 percent from 2007.
  • 9. The Dodge Magnum clocks in at the ninth spot with only 6,833 units sold, down 73.3 percent from last year, according to Cars.com.
  • 8. The Chrysler Pacifica's sales are down 87 percent in 2008, with only 6,227 of these cars sold, according to Cars.com.
  • 7. It may be climbing high on this hill, but the Hummer H2's sales are down 46.8 percent this year with only 5,488 vehicles sold, according to Cars.com.
  • 6. The Lincoln Mark LT's sales are also down in 2008, some 44.8 percent by Cars.com's count. Only 4,038 units have sold this year as of the end of October.
  • 5. The Cadillac Escalade EXT has the exterior of a bouncer and apparently it's keeping folks away as Cars.com said only 3,779 EXTs have sold this year, down 44.8 percent from 2007.
  • 4. The Mercury Mariner Hybrid's sales are also slumping, down 34.5 percent, with only 2,011 units sold, according to Cars.com.
  • 3. The Chrysler Crossfire's sales plummeted through Oct. 2008, down 78.3 percent with only 1,819 sold, according to Cars.com.
  • 2. The Cadillac XLR's sales are down 28.5 percent with only 1,091 units sold, Cars.com said.
  • 1. The Dodge Viper has had the worst sales of an American car in 2008, with only 959 units sold, but that's not such bad news. Sales for the sporty Viper are actually up 149 percent from 2007 according to Cars.com.
