A Spanish man standing behind a protective barrier at a summer festival was fatally gored by a bull.

Coria town spokeswoman Clara Iglesias said Thursday that the bull charged at the barrier and managed to get a horn between the vertical tube bars to gore the man twice. A video of the goring, which occurred Wednesday evening, was posted on several Spanish news websites.

A town hall statement said the 43-year-old man died later from injuries to the abdomen and chest in Coria's hospital. He was from a neighboring town.

Fiestas featuring bulls are common in Spain and many people are injured each year.

Spain's most famous bull-running event is in the San Fermin festival in Pamplona in July.
