Eric Garcia had 14 points and Karl Cochran put the game out of reach on a 3-pointer with 2:05 left in Wofford's 64-53 victory over Sam Houston State in the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic on Sunday.

Garcia made all four of his free throws after Cochran's 3 to secure the win for the Terriers (4-1).

Wofford led 28-19 at halftime and opened the second with a 7-2 run. Sam Houston State (3-2) pulled within 54-47 on Dakarai Henderson's jumper with 3:51 left but would get no closer.

Cochran and Garcia both made two 3-pointers. Spencer Collins scored 13 on 5-of-6 shooting, Cochran had 12 points and Lee Skinner had 10.

Wofford shot 51.2 percent from the field and held Sam Houston to 31.4 percent.

Aurimas Majauskas made all 10 of his free throws and finished with 20 points to lead the Bearkats. Michael Holyfield added 10 points.
