Turin, Italy – Mirko Vucinic scored twice to power Juventus to a 2-1 victory over 10-man Pescara at Juventus Stadium on Saturday.
The match was scoreless until the 72nd minute when Giuseppe Rizzo tripped up Arturo Vidal in the penalty area to deny the Chilean a clear strike on goal. Rizzo was promptly shown a straight red card and Vucinic made the most of the ensuing attempt, converting to give the home side the lead.
Vucinic doubled the advantage just six minutes later, nabbing his ninth Serie A goal of the campaign.
It proved to be a crucial strike as Emmanuel Cascione's strike from distance in the 83rd minute pulled Pescara to within one, but Juventus managed to cling to the one-goal edge and extend its lead at the top of the table.
The Old Lady improves to 71 points on the season, 12 points better than second-place Napoli. The Naples club can restore its nine-point deficit with a victory over Genoa on Sunday.
Pescara has lost seven league games in a row, claiming just one point from its last 12 outings to sit at the foot of the Serie A table with just 21 points.
Bologna 2, Torino 2
Bologna, Italy - Rolando Bianchi scored in the fourth minute of stoppage time to help Torino salvage a point in dramatic fashion as the club played to a 2-2 draw at Bologna on Saturday.
Torino was in front by halftime thanks to Paulo Vito Barreto's strike in the 25th minute, but the home side answered through Panagiotis Kone and Tiberio Guarente.
Bologna thought that Guarente's strike would be enough to claim the win, but Bianchi's late goal spoiled that notion as the two sides left the Stadio Renato Dall'Ara with an even take.
