Wolfsburg, Germany (SportsNetwork.com) - Wolfsburg announced on Wednesday that midfielder Christian Trasch has signed a new three-year contract that ties him to the club until 2018.

The 27-year-old's contract was set to expire at the end of the season, but his new deal keeps him at the Volkswagen Arena for a Wolfsburg side that is currently second in the Bundesliga.

Trasch joined Wolfsburg from Stuttgart in 2011 and he has made 16 appearances in all competitions for the team.

In addition to Trasch, Wolfsburg has also agreed to contract extensions with Ricardo Rodriguez and Vieirinha this season.
