Toronto's Romero has elbow, knees worked on

Toronto Blue Jays starter Ricky Romero underwent arthroscopic surgery on his throwing elbow recently, and also received PRP treatments to both knees to enhance the recovery of his quadriceps tendinitis.

The Blue Jays announced the procedures on Tuesday and indicated the left- hander should be ready by Spring Training.

Romero, Toronto's Opening Day starter, set career highs in ERA (5.77), WHIP (1.67) and walks (105) over 32 starts last season. He finished with a 9-14 record, which included a string of 13 consecutive losing decisions.
