Vienna, Austria (SportsNetwork.com) - Czech seeds Radek Stepanek and Lukas Rosol were Monday's first-round winners at the Erste Bank Open.

The fifth-seeded Stepanek handled Austrian wild card Martin Fischer 7-5, 6-3, while the eighth-seeded Rosol doused Dutchman Jesse Huta Galung 6-3, 7-5 on the indoor hardcourts at Wiener Stadthalle.

Juan Martin del Potro, who is not defending his title this week, beat Slovenian Greg Zemlja in last year's Vienna finale. The top seeds here are 2011 champion Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and 2001 titlist Tommy Haas.

The winner of this $675,000 event will earn $122,000.
