It was announced on Thursday that LPGA Tour major winner Hollis Stacy will be inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2012.

Stacy won three straight U.S. Girls' Junior Championships from 1969-71 and three U.S. Women's Open Championships. In a 26-year career, Stacy secured 18 wins.

"I was speechless. I totally did not expect it," Stacy said. "I'm just overwhelmed. I am humbled and so excited. It's such a great honor to be in the same group with friends like JoAnne Carter, Nancy Lopez, Patty Sheehan, Betsy King and Mickey Wright."

Stacy joins Phil Mickelson in the class of 2012 after Mickelson was announced a week ago.
