Sporting Kansas City announced on Monday that the club has traded midfielder Davy Arnaud to the Montreal Impact in exchange for defender Seth Sinovic and allocation money.

Arnaud has spent the past 10 seasons with Sporting, appearing in 240 regular season games to rank first all-time in club history.

The 31-year-old has scored 43 goals and assisted on 35 more during his time with the club, while he played in 22 games this past season before having his season interrupted by sports hernia surgery in July.

"I am very thankful to Sporting Kansas City, the organization and the fans," said Arnaud. "I made this my home for 10 years and am so proud to have been a part of the great soccer growth in Kansas City. I look forward to my next challenge and playing in Montreal, but will never forget the wonderful times we shared here."

Sinovic joined Sporting after the start of the 2011 season and went on to make 20 appearances for the club.

He was selected by Montreal in last week's expansion draft but returns along with allocation money.

"We're very happy to be in a position where we could bring back Seth," said Sporting manager Peter Vermes. "We felt that over the course of last season he developed and became a big part of our team. We put an emphasis on reacquiring Seth and keeping him in his home town."
