Tampa, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - The University of South Florida relieved head men's basketball coach Stan Heath of his duties Friday following a 12-20 finish to the 2013-14 season.

The Bulls reached the third round of the NCAA Tournament under Heath's direction in 2011-12, but have gone 24-39 in two seasons since. South Florida reached the NCAAs just one time in the 49-year-old's seven seasons leading the program.

South Florida also placed last in the American Athletic Conference with a 3-15 league record in 2013-14, while posting an identical mark in the Big East the previous season. The Bulls were ousted by Rutgers in Wednesday's opening round of the AAC Tournament.

Heath, who took Kent State to the Elite 8 in 2001-02 and led Arkansas to a pair of NCAA trips in 2006 and 2007, compiled a 97-130 overall record with the Bulls and has gone 209-207 over 13 seasons as a Division I head coach.
