CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A setback in Charlotte Bobcats forward Tyrus Thomas' recovery from left knee surgery will keep him sidelined against the Chicago Bulls.
Thomas woke up Wednesday with soreness a day after his first full-contact practice since he was diagnosed with a torn meniscus on Jan. 20. Thomas sat out shootaround and says he now hopes to return Friday against Portland.
The Bobcats also will be without guard Stephen Jackson for a third straight game Wednesday because of continued problems with his strained left hamstring. Coach Paul Silas said a day earlier Jackson would return against the Bulls.
And Charlotte has more injury woes. Silas says backup center Joel Przybilla's surgically repaired right knee "hurts a lot" and will limit his minutes.

Guard Stephen Jackson also was less optimistic a day after coach Paul Silas declared he would return from a strained left hamstring Wednesday against the Bulls.
Jackson calls himself a "game-time decision" and says there's some risk in him re-injuring his leg.
The Bobcats have dropped five straight, but sit a game behind Indiana for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
