Irving, TX – LSU is still No. 1 in the most recent BCS standings released Sunday, but the rest of the field has been shaken up following a weekend of upsets.
The Tigers (11-0), one of the two remaining undefeated teams and are followed by SEC brethren Alabama (10-1) and Arkansas (10-1). LSU hosts the No. 3 Razorbacks next Friday, while No. 2 Alabama will visit arch-rival Auburn in the Iron Bowl.
Oklahoma State (10-1) dropped two spots from second in the BCS standings after a stunning double-overtime loss to Iowa State on Friday. Virginia Tech (10-1) rounds out the top five.
Stanford (10-1), Boise State (9-1), Houston (11-0), Oklahoma (8-2) and Oregon (9-2) complete the top 10.
Oklahoma tumbled four places from fifth on the heels of a last-minute loss at Baylor, while Oregon fell six spots following a home setback to Southern California. Clemson (9-2) suffered a 37-13 loss at NC State and plummeted from No. 7 to No. 17.
The BCS system, in place since 1998, is computed by averaging the percentage totals of the Harris Interactive poll, USA Today poll and computer rankings. The top two teams at the end of the season will square off in the national championship game.
