Jamaal Samuel scored 18 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead Louisiana-Monroe over Champion Baptist College 106-39 on Monday night.

Tylor Ongwae had 16, Mack Foster 13 and Marvin Williams added 11 for Louisiana-Monroe (2-0). The Warhawks made 59.4 percent of their 69 shots, including 9 of 24 3-pointers. Samuel made three treys and seven of his 12 field goals, and Ongwae only missed two of his 10 shots.

Cody Connor led Champion Baptist College, an Association of Christian College Athletics member, with nine points. The Tigers were held to 26.9 percent shooting and were outrebounded 48-21.

Louisiana-Monroe held Champion Baptist College to two field goals in the final 8 minutes of the first half and led 53-18 at the break. Then Samuel scored eight points in Louisiana-Monroe's 17-2 run to open the second half.
