Buffalo Sabres defenseman Tyler Myers expects to be ready for the start of the NHL season, saying he's fully recovered from an ankle injury sustained while playing in Austria.

Myers declared himself "100 percent" on Thursday after becoming the latest Sabres player to participate in informal practices at a suburban arena. Concerns were raised after Buffalo's star defenseman was hurt early last month playing for Austria's Klagenfurter AC.

Myers missed a about month before returning for one game last week. He returned home Tuesday after a tentative deal was reached to end the NHL lockout.

Though feeling jet-lagged, Myers showed no signs of the injury bothering him during the 90-minute session. The Sabres could open training camp as early as Sunday, and open the regular season a week later.
