Colorado Rockies outfielder Carlos Gonzalez has been named the National League player of the week for the period ending August 28.

Gonzalez hit .481 (13-for-27) with three home runs and a major league-best 10 RBI in six games. He ranked second in total bases (24) and had an on-base percentage of .533 while leading Colorado to a 4-2 mark.

Gonzalez had a hit in every game to extend his hitting streak to 15 games.

Other noteworthy performances last week included Gonzalez's teammate Troy Tulowitzki, Milwaukee's Ryan Braun and Corey Hart; Matt Kemp and James Loney of the Dodgers; Houston's Carlos Lee; Aramis Ramirez of the Chicago Cubs; Cincinnati's Joey Votto; pitcher Chris Capuano of the New York Mets; and Arizona starter Ian Kennedy.
