MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Florida State could have seen its national-championship hopes go up in Miami's fabled smoke.
Instead, the Seminoles are back atop the AP Top 25.
Florida State rallied from 16 points down to top Miami 30-26 on Saturday night, extending its winning streak to 26 games. On Sunday, the Seminoles returned to No. 1 in The Associated Press poll. When the next College Football Playoff rankings are released this week, the Seminoles (10-0, 7-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) almost certainly will hold one of the top two spots.
Seminoles wide receiver Rashad Greene says his team doesn't care where it is ranked — as long as it's among the top four on the CFP list.
Wins over Boston College, Florida and then either Duke or Georgia Tech in the ACC title game would ensure that it finishes there.
