The selling of 'BUGA Nation' merchandise is in question... John David Mercer USA TODAY Sports
According to a report from USA TODAY Sports, LSU is investigating as to whether the family of running back Leonard Fournette has committed NCAA violations.
The allegations stem from the catchphrase "BUGA NATION" -- a term created by Fournette's family during his high school playing days. Fournette's mother was said to have manufactured a website during Fournette's freshman year at LSU, with the idea of selling "BUGA Nation" merchandise.
The creation of the website, and the production of the merchandise was said to cost about $10,000.
According to the report, LSU has hired attorney Bob Barton to handle matters pertaining to this situation. He's reportedly already begun interviewing people associated with the website. Barton is an attorney specializing in all matters dealing with NCAA rules.
