Metairie, LA (SportsNetwork.com) - The New Orleans Saints and veteran running back Pierre Thomas agreed to terms on a two-year contract extension Wednesday.

Thomas, 29, has played for the Saints since signing as an undrafted free agent in 2007.

Last season, he rushed for 549 yards and two touchdowns and set personal bests in catches (77) and receiving yards (513) while starting nine of 16 games. His three touchdown receptions matched a career high.
