New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - The New York Rangers announced Wednesday that leading scorer Mats Zuccarello suffered a non-displaced fracture in his left hand while playing for Norway at the Sochi Olympics.

An MRI taken in Russia revealed the injury. Zuccarello is scheduled to return to New York on Thursday and he will be evaluated by Rangers team doctors.

There was no immediate word on how long he will be sidelined. The Rangers begin their post-Olympic schedule on Feb. 27 against visiting Chicago.

The Norwegians lost to Russia in the qualification round on Tuesday without Zuccarello, who leads the Rangers with 43 points and is tied for second with 15 goals.
