Paris, France (SportsNetwork.com) - Paris Saint-Germain moved back to the top of the Ligue 1 table on Tuesday with a 3-1 win over Metz at the Parc des Princes.

Coming off a 6-1 drubbing of Lille over the weekend, Laurent Blanc's side entered Tuesday looking to jump back into first place and keep their bid for third straight Ligue 1 title alive.

The hosts grabbed the first goal of the day after 25 minutes through midfielder Marco Verratti and Edinson Cavani doubled the lead three minutes prior to the intermission.

The visitors pulled one back in the 53rd minute through a goal from Modibo Maiga, but the capital club added to its lead again in the 77th minute through defender Gregory van der Wiel.

The win allowed PSG to jump over second-place Lyon and into the top spot with 71 points, while Metz remains in the relegation zone with 30 points, eight adrift from safety.
