New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - The NBA has suspended Phoenix Suns forward Markieff Morris one game for elbowing Thunder big man Serge Ibaka in the face during an Oct. 22 preseason game.
The incident took place at the 6:42 mark of the third quarter during a Reggie Jackson free throw attempt. Morris and Ibaka got tangled under the basket, and the former used his elbow to establish position.
Morris will miss the Suns' regular season opener against the Portland Trail Blazers.
In two NBA seasons, Morris has averaged 7.8 points and 4.8 rebounds, making 39 starts.
