The Philadelphia Phillies placed catcher Erik Kratz on the 15-day disabled list Sunday with a left knee injury and recalled catcher Steven Lerud from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

Kratz sustained the injury during Philadelphia's 4-3 loss to Milwaukee on Saturday. The veteran backstop is hitting .229 with eight home runs and 22 runs batted in through 43 games this season.

Lerud, 28, made his major league debut with the Phillies in 2012 and had two hits in 10 plate appearances over three games. Lerud batted .221 with two homers and 14 RBI in 31 games with the IronPigs this season.
