's-Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands (Sports Network) - Nadia Petrova of Russia posted a straight-set win over Polish qualifier Urszula Radwanska to claim the title at the Unicef Open.
The eighth-seeded Petrova earned a 6-4, 6-3 triumph in Saturday's final for her 11th career title and first since last summer in Maryland. She improved to 11-11 all-time in WTA finals.
Petrova, a former top-10 player, will head to Wimbledon next week as the 20th seed and will meet Italian qualifier Maria Elena Camerin in the first round at the All England Club.
The 30-year-old veteran's best prior results this season were a pair of quarterfinal appearances. She blitzed through this tournament without dropping a set.
Radwanska, the younger sister of third-ranked Agnieszka, was appearing in her first career final. She advanced to the championship match via a walkover when semifinal opponent Kim Clijsters withdrew Friday with an abdominal strain.
Ranked 64th, the younger Radwanska will face New Zealand's Marina Erakovic in the first round at Wimbledon.
Saturday's victory gave Petrova a first prize of $37,000.
