Denver, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - Derek Norris' two-run double in the eighth inning led the San Diego Padres to a 7-6 win over the Colorado Rockies in the second of a four-game set.

Wil Myers went 3-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored while Clint Barmes added a solo homer for the Padres, who have won three straight and six of seven.

Brandon Morrow pitched six innings for San Diego and allowed five runs on six hits with a walk and three strikeouts. Brandon Maurer (1-0) picked up the win for an inning of scoreless relief.

"I've said all along we like this group of players," said San Diego manager Bud Black. "When we picked our team we felt good about it."

Nick Hundley hit a solo home run and drove in two for the Rockies, who have lost their last five. Charlie Blackmon also drove in a pair of runs.

Colorado starter Tyler Matzek gave up two runs on four hits while walking six and striking out three over five innings. Boone Logan (0-1) took the loss for giving up three runs in the eighth.

"This was a tough one to lose because the guys kept fighting the whole game," said Colorado manager Walt Weiss. "We fought to the last out and just fell a run short."

Trailing 5-3 in the eighth, the Padres went on top with a four-run inning.

Will Middlebrooks led off with a single and Yonder Alonso was hit by a pitch from Logan with one out. Yangervis Solarte then singled home Middlebrooks and put runners at the corners. A hit back to the mound by Alexi Amarista saw Alonso thrown out at home, but Myers followed with an RBI single and Norris' two-run double made it a 7-5 game.

Joaquin Benoit then tossed a 1-2-3 eighth and Craig Kimbrel came on in the ninth to close the game, but got into trouble.

Hundley led off the inning with his first homer of the season to cut the score to 7-6. Kimbrel, though, struck out Wilin Rosario, got Corey Dickerson to ground out to first and induced a pop out from Daniel Descalso to end the game and pick up his fifth save of the season.

San Diego took the lead in the third when Barmes led off with his first homer of the season. Norris hit a two-out double later in the inning and scored when Matt Kemp followed with a single for a 2-0 lead. Kemp was thrown out at second on the play to end the frame.

Colorado tied the game in the fourth, as Justin Morneau singled and scored when Hundley followed with a triple. D.J. LeMahieu's groundout plated Hundley for a 2-2 game.

The Rockies then took the lead in the fifth. Following back-to-back singles from Matzek and Rafael Ynoa, Blackmon tripled in both runners. A sacrifice fly from Troy Tulowitzki gave the team a 5-2 lead.

San Diego chipped away at its deficit in the seventh on an RBI double from Myers.
