Dannielle Diamant had 19 points and eight rebounds to lead Northwestern to a 63-51 upset of No. 16 Nebraska on Thursday night.

Kendall Hackney added 17 points for the Wildcats (14-12, 4-9 Big Ten), whose second-half surge helped them snap a three-game losing streak.

Jordan Hooper's 19 points paced the Cornhuskers (19-6, 8-5), who lost for the third time in a row and dropped into a tie for fifth in the conference.

Nebraska's Lindsey Moore and Emily Cady scored 10 points apiece, and Hailie Sample snared 11 rebounds.

The Wildcats shot 46 percent (21 of 46) to just 29 percent (18 of 63) for Nebraska.

Hackney went 3 of 5 from 3-point range to pace Northwestern's 7-for-17 effort. The Cornhuskers made just 5 of 28 of their 3-point attempts.

The game was tied 29-29 at halftime before the Wildcats pulled away in the second half.
