The Washington Nationals signed right- handed pitcher Chris Young to a minor league deal on Thursday.

Young rejoins the Nationals after signing a minor league contract with them on Feb. 21. He went 1-0 with a 2.25 ERA in four spring training starts before being released on March 26.

The right-hander spent the past two seasons with the New York Mets. Over 20 starts in 2012, the 6-foot-10 hurler posted a 4-9 record with a 4.15 ERA.

Over 159 career starts with Texas, San Diego and the Mets, Young has pitched to a 53-43 record with a 3.79 ERA and 755 strikeouts.
