Naples, Italy (SportsNetwork.com) - Gonzalo Higuain helped Napoli overturn an early deficit at the Stadio San Paolo on Saturday, scoring twice in the club's 3-1 victory over AC Milan.

Adel Taarabt opened the scoring in the sixth minute with a brilliant solo effort that culminated with the former Fulham attacker curling a low shot just inside the far post.

Napoli answered just five minutes later as Gokhan Inler's shot from distance took a deflection off Nigel De Jong on its way past Christian Abbiati.

The two sides were level until the 56th minute when Higuain got on the end of Inler's free kick and sent a glancing header past Abbiati.

Napoli put the result beyond any doubt eight minutes from time following a well-worked move. Marek Hamsik picked out Jose Callejon with a perfectly- weighted through ball, and Callejon centered the ball for Higuain to tuck home with ease.

The win puts Napoli on 47 points for the season, 12 points back of first-place Juventus.

AC Milan drops its first Serie A match under new manager Clarence Seedorf to stay put on 29 points.

Udinese claimed a second consecutive Serie A win on Saturday by getting a 3-0 victory over Chievo. All three goals came in the second half with Antonio Di Natale, Bruno and Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu doing the damage.

Also on Saturday, Fiorentina scored one goal in both halves to get a 2-0 win over 10-man Atalanta. Josip Ilicic opened the scoring in the 16th minute when both sides were at full strength, and Fiorentina took advantage of Luca Cigarini's sending off in the 80th minute as Rafal Wolski scored with four minutes to play.
