London, England – Aaron Ramsey's own goal sparked Liverpool 0 win over Arsenal on Saturday in the English Premier League, its first win at Emirates Stadium since 2000.
Ramsey was credited with the own goal when Ignasi Miquel's attempted clearance bounced off his chest and into the net, and Luis Suarez added his second goal of the season in the 90th to seal Liverpool's win.
Emmanuel Frimpong was sent off with 20 minutes left for Arsenal, and Ramsey's unfortunate own goal followed eight minutes later.
Suarez added the second goal off an easy tap-in from six yards after Lucas was able to square a pass in from the right side, leaving an open net in front of the Uruguayan.
Samir Nasri, reported to be on his way to Manchester City, played well for the Gunners. But he was not treated well by the home fans, who watched former star Cesc Fabregas depart for Barcelona recently.
The Emirates serenaded Arsenal's players off the pitch with boos, and manager Arsene Wenger has his work cut out for him to keep the Gunners among the elite clubs in England this season. Arsenal tied Newcastle 0-0 last week.
Liverpool posted its first win after drawing Sunderland last week.
Chelsea 2, West Bromwich 1
London, England - Florent Malouda scored with seven minutes left as Chelsea overturned an early deficit for a 2-1 victory over West Bromwich at Stamford Bridge on Saturday to hand new coach Andre Villas-Boas his first win.
Shane Long scored his second goal in as many matches for West Brom just four minutes into the fixture, but Florent Malouda equalized on 53 minutes and Jose Bosingwa's work on the right and inch-perfect cross was converted by Malouda with a nice finish to the near post in the 83rd minute.
After Long scored early, West Brom played well on the road but was not able to solve Chelsea goalie Henrique Hilario, playing for injured starter Petr Cech, for the remainder of the match.
Malouda was fortunate to tie the match after half, as his shot from the right side of the box took a deflection off West Brom defender Jonas Olsson and left goalie Ben Foster stranded at the near post.
Bosingwa split two defenders on the right, and swung a pass behind West Brom's defense and in front of Olsson to the far post, where Malouda finished from a tight angle for the match-winner.
Chelsea tied Stoke City 0-0 its English Premier League opener last week. West Brom lost its opener 2-1 against Manchester United.
Aston Villa 3, Blackburn 1
Birmingham, England - Gabriel Agbonlahor, Emile Heskey and Darren Bent scored and Aston Villa cruised to a 3-1 win over Blackburn on Saturday at Villa Park in the English Premier League.
Agbonlahor and Heskey scored inside 25 minutes and, after Morten Pedersen was on target for Blackburn early in the second half, Bent sealed the match on 68 minutes.
Villa remained unbeaten after two games as it added to its season-opening draw against Fulham. Blackburn lost its second in a row as it fell to Wolverhampton last week.
QPR 1, Everton 0
Liverpool, England - Tommy Smith scored just after the half-hour mark and QPR held on to edge Everton, 1-0, on Saturday at Goodison Park for its first win in the English Premier League.
Smith settled the ball in the top of the area and curled a shot inside goalie Tim Howard's left post, converting from 15 yards for the first EPL goal for promoted QPR. Bolton blasted QPR 4-0 in its debut last week.
Everton, which had its opener at Tottenham postponed last week due to riots in London, lost its season opener.
Swansea City 0, Wigan 0
Swansea, Wales - Michel Vorm saved Ben Watson's second-half penalty kick and promoted Swansea City escaped the first English Premier League game played off British soil on Saturday with a 0-0 draw against Wigan.
Swansea, which is in Wales, earned promotion to the EPL this season and opened with a loss Manchester City, but Vorm - signed just before the season opened - was the hero at Liberty Stadium.
Swansea earned its first point in the EPL, while Wigan played two its second draw of the season.
Newcastle 1, Sunderland 0
Sunderland, England - Ryan Taylor scored in the 62nd minute and Newcastle won 1-0 over Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on Saturday in the English Premier League.
Taylor curled in a free kick for the match's lone goal as Sunderland failed to take advantage of its chances and suffered its first defeat after a tie in its opener. Newcastle is on four points after it tied its opener.
