White Plains, NY – Two-time major champion Svetlana Kuznetsova has pulled out of the U.S. Open.
The United States Tennis Association posted an updated list of players who have withdrawn from the tournament, but no reason was given for any of them.
Kuznetsova captured the 2004 U.S. Open by beating Elena Dementieva in the final. The Russian, who also won the title at the French Open in 2009, lost the final at Flushing Meadows to Justine Henin in 2007.
Others to withdraw are Italian Flavia Pennetta, Estonia's Kaia Kanepi and Great Britain's Elena Baltacha.
