The Texas Rangers have signed two-time All- Star second baseman Ian Kinsler to a five-year contract extension, the team officially announced Wednesday.

The deal, which was pending a physical, was originally reported Monday and is worth $75 million. It runs from 2013-17 and includes a club option for 2018.

Kinsler, 29, has spent his entire seven-year major league career with Texas and put together his second 30-30 season in 2011 with 32 homers and 30 steals while hitting .255 with 77 runs batted in.

He was a career .275 hitter going into Wednesday's home game against Seattle with 126 homers, 399 RBI and a .356 on-base percentage.
