The Los Angeles Kings signed forward Trent year contract Friday.

Hunter was drafted by Anaheim in the sixth-round of the 1998 entry draft but played his entire eight-year career for the New York Islanders.

The Red Deer, Alberta native has appeared in 459 career games, recording 99 goals and 130 assists.

The 31-year-old was limited to 17 games last season as he missed time with a lower body injury.

In 14 career playoff appearances, Hunter has four goals and an assist.
